Reuniting with long-time producer Matt Bayles, the Seattle quintet's fifth studio album is a deliberate return to the aggressive, guitar-driven urgency of their earlier work. While maintaining the prominent electronic synthesizers introduced on 'Omni', the recording is dominated by Dave Knudson's phenomenal, hyper-technical guitar tapping and the band's signature, heavily syncopated math-rock grooves. It was widely praised as a highly energetic, deeply melodic revitalization of their core sound.
