Album Notes & Community Reviews

Riding the wave of the early 1960s pachanga craze, the legendary congueros transition their heavy Afro-Cuban percussion into a lighter, highly danceable charanga format. Utilizing flute and violins over the propulsive rhythm section, the recording fueled the vibrant New York Latin dance scene just prior to the salsa explosion.
