Tropicana

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Synthesizing Latin American rhythms with sweeping Hollywood orchestration, this release caters directly to the era's booming high-fidelity escapism market. The arrangements rely heavily on sweeping strings, pronounced percussion, and pseudo-tropical motifs designed to evoke imagined foreign locales. The album stands as a pristine example of the lush, manufactured exotica that dominated mid-century instrumental pop.
