Shadow of the Sun

The third full-length from Ripley Johnson (of Wooden Shjips) and Sanae Yamada leans deeply into rigid motorik rhythms and fuzzy, sprawling guitar jams. Often moving away from straightforward rock arrangements, the project integrates prominent analog synthesizers and dark dance beats reminiscent of Suicide and early krautrock. It thrives on establishing dense, hypnotic grooves designed to induce a trance-like state.
