Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded shortly after he began performing as the blind street musician 'The Viking of 6th Avenue', this incredibly rare release introduces the bizarre, rhythmic world of Louis Hardin. 'Moondog and His Friends' blends unusual time signatures, custom-built percussion instruments, and fragments of classical counterpoint into a deeply eccentric urban folk style. It serves as a fascinating, raw precursor to his later, more polished minimalist masterworks.
