Album Notes & Community Reviews
Cementing the Finnish ensemble as pioneers of the epic pagan metal subgenre, 'Voimasta ja kunniasta' grandly intertwines traditional Nordic folk instrumentation with blistering black metal ferocity. The expansive, narrative-driven tracks utilize soaring choirs and cinematic keyboard arrangements to recount mythological tales of war and ancient heritage. The band's refusal to rely on cheap tavern-metal tropes gives the album an atmosphere of genuine grandeur and reverence.
