'Malandro em sinuca' belongs to the sequence of Odeon LPs that restored Moreira da Silva to prominence after the comeback Alu铆sio de Oliveira engineered with 'O 煤ltimo malandro'. Its title song casts his malandro persona at the billiard table, the spoken asides of samba de breque, the style he created with 'Jogo proibido' in 1937, interrupting the sung line for comic effect.
