Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Morengueira' appeared on Imperial after Moreira da Silva's long Odeon association, late in one of the longest careers in Brazilian popular music. It carries the samba de breque style he created with 'Jogo proibido', its spoken asides breaking the melody in the manner that made him the definitive singer of the malandro character.
