Album Notes & Community Reviews
Five years after his landmark solo debut, the Brooklyn emcee takes a sharp, heavily scrutinized detour into alternative rock and deep soul fusion. Featuring his rock-oriented backing band Black Jack Johnson, the highly eclectic record embraces distorted guitars, bluesy vocal performances, and dense, philosophical lyricism over traditional hip-hop beats.
