Album Notes & Community Reviews
Formed by David Borden in the late 1960s with the direct encouragement of Robert Moog, this ensemble was among the very first all-synthesizer bands. Their debut full-length utilizes multiple Minimoogs and a modular system to construct complex, interwoven minimalist cycles indebted to the compositional theories of Terry Riley and Steve Reich. The recording stands as a critical evolutionary link between academic electroacoustic experimentation and the sequencer-driven Berlin School that would follow.
