Conceived as a comeback album following the band's initial split, 'Avalanche' reunites Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi for another dose of massive, blues-based hard rock. The record features driving original material alongside a blisteringly heavy cover of 'Satisfaction', all anchored by West's gargantuan guitar tone. Despite the strong performances, the album would be the last Mountain record to feature Pappalardi before the band's subsequent dissolution.
