Mr. Fox

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Led by the husband-and-wife duo of Bob and Carole Pegg, this Yorkshire ensemble presented a notably darker, more rural interpretation of electric folk rock.[cite: 1] Incorporating traditional instrumentation like the melodeon and fiddle alongside heavy rhythm sections, the album evokes a gritty, medieval atmosphere distinct from the polished sound of Fairport Convention.[cite: 1] It remains a highly respected, distinctively earthy classic of the British folk revival.[cite: 1]
