Album Notes & Community Reviews

Sergiu Celibidache's performances of Brahms' Symphonies Nos. 2, 3 and 4 with the Munich Philharmonic were recorded live during his tenure as the orchestra's music director. Celibidache, who refused commercial studio recording for most of his career, is documented here in the concert conditions he insisted upon, with the broad tempos of his late style.
