Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded largely on a Kentucky farm using grain silos to achieve an immense natural reverb, 'At Dawn' firmly established Jim James' sweeping, cosmic take on southern rock. The album intertwines desolate acoustic picking with explosive, jam-oriented electric crescendos, all anchored by James' soaring, ghostly tenor. The result is a pastoral and uniquely American strain of indie rock that feels both hauntingly intimate and incredibly vast.
