Album Notes & Community Reviews

The visionary Canadian folk interpreter constructs an exceptionally sparse, entirely acoustic meditation on mortality and profound isolation. Built upon her masterful acoustic fingerpicking and stark, haunting vocal deliveries, the heavily traditional compositions project an overwhelming, unshakeable sense of historical sorrow. 'Mayday' is a breathtakingly melancholic, devastatingly quiet triumph of modern contemporary folk.
