Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking her major-label debut, the acclaimed Texan songwriter brought her articulate folk narratives into a slightly glossier, neo-traditionalist country framework. 'Lone Star State of Mind' features the first recording of her beloved classic 'From a Distance', alongside highly melodic, bittersweet storytelling. The album successfully broadened her audience while retaining the literary depth of her earlier independent releases.
