Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded on a shoestring budget and released on a small independent label, this sophomore effort solidified Griffith's distinctly literate, folk-country style. 'Poet in My Window' highlights her intricate acoustic guitar picking and unmistakable, crystalline vocals set to poetic narratives of working-class Texas life. It served as a crucial stepping stone toward her eventual dominance in the 1980s folk revival movement.
