Album Notes & Community Reviews

Demonstrating his full transition from a brilliant jazz pianist to a massive mainstream pop vocalist, this collection finds Nat "King" Cole backed by sweeping, lush string orchestrations. Nelson Riddle's incredibly romantic arrangements perfectly frame Cole's warm, impossibly smooth baritone and impeccable phrasing. The album is a quintessential, defining masterpiece of sophisticated 1950s mood music.
