Album Notes & Community Reviews

Teaming with arranger Dave Cavanaugh, the iconic vocalist departs from his usual string-laden balladry for a buoyant, relentlessly swinging set. His impeccable rhythmic phrasing and conversational delivery glide effortlessly over the punchy, brass-heavy big band charts. The recording is a joyous reaffirmation of his foundational roots as a premier jazz musician.
