Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following the 2016 US Presidential election, the Virginian singer completely scrapped a nearly finished album to craft this significantly more politically frustrated, groove-oriented record. The incredibly slick, 1980s-indebted R&B and synth-funk production masks her deeply disillusioned lyricism regarding feminism and political dread. It earned widespread critical acclaim for its flawlessly executed vintage pop hooks and mature thematic depth.
