A Symphony of Amaranths

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The British jazz composer and director delivered an incredibly ambitious, large-scale orchestral suite that masterfully synthesizes modern jazz with classical forms. Featuring a massive ensemble that includes Don Rendell and Norma Winstone, the deeply textured arrangements incorporate spoken-word poetry and lush, avant-garde harmonics. It represents a creative pinnacle of the UK Third Stream movement.
