Stepping out from his duties leading Slowdive and Mojave 3, the British songwriter delivered a remarkably gentle, acoustic-driven solo debut. The pastoral, stripped-down arrangements heavily recall the classic folk-rock singer-songwriters of the 1970s while retaining his signature atmospheric melancholy.
