Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing his dual talents as a premier Brill Building songwriter and an incredibly affable vocalist, this debut perfectly distills the optimistic energy of early 1960s pop. The meticulously crafted arrangements feature bouncy piano rhythms and tight doo-wop backing vocals, completely domesticating the rebellion of rock and roll for the teenage market. It launched the highly lucrative solo career of one of pop music's most successful architects.
