Album Notes & Community Reviews
On her first entirely self-produced album, 'Neon Grey Midnight Green', Neko Case crafts an ambitious and atmospheric soundscape that serves as a tribute to the lives of musicians. The production blends country-noir and art-rock with lush chamber orchestra arrangements, creating a sound that is both intimate and cinematically vast. Case's songwriting explores themes of grief and memory through idiosyncratic structures and surreal imagery, matched by a dynamic vocal performance that shifts from hushed intimacy to raw, explosive intensity.
