Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fusing underground club sounds with mainstream pop and hip-hop, 'Raw Like Sushi' stands as a visionary piece of late-80s British dance music. Neneh Cherry blends fierce, attitude-heavy rapping with soulful vocal hooks, addressing themes of modern womanhood, motherhood, and street wisdom. The breakout success of the single 'Buffalo Stance' cemented the record's profound influence on the forthcoming trip-hop and alternative R&B movements.
