Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut full-length from Neutral Milk Hotel is a noisy, highly surreal burst of lo-fi psychedelic folk. Jeff Mangum pairs intensely passionate, bittersweet singer-songwriter melodies with chaotic, fuzz-drenched instrumentation and lengthy, atmospheric drone passages.
