Album Notes & Community Reviews
Initially released independently before being picked up by Roadrunner Records, this album served as the massive commercial breakthrough for the Canadian post-grunge titans. Driven by the ubiquitous radio single 'Leader of Men', 'The State' relies on heavy, distorted mid-tempo riffs and Chad Kroeger's distinctive, gravelly vocal delivery.
