Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pivoting away from the bright, EDM-heavy dance-pop of her previous efforts, the rap superstar delivers a vulnerable, heavily introspective return to her hip-hop roots. Deeply influenced by the dissolution of a 12-year romantic relationship, the record balances confessional, R&B-tinged ballads with aggressive, battle-ready trap anthems. The mature sonic shift earned her significant critical praise and multiple Grammy nominations.
