Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by John Cale, Nico's final studio album frames her commanding, sepulchral harmonium playing within cold, heavily synthesized darkwave arrangements. Backed by the post-punk group Faction, the record features dense, mechanical percussion and deeply cryptic, depressive lyricism. 'Camera Obscura' is a haunting, intensely nocturnal swan song that flawlessly marries her avant-garde origins with 80s industrial aesthetics.
