Commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the celebrated flutist and composer directs her Black Earth Ensemble through a deeply afrofuturist concept piece. Blending traditional acoustic instruments with electronics, shakuhachi, and spoken-word poetry, the performance constructs a complex sonic narrative about a utopian society existing in an alternate dimension.
