The debut album by Norwegian trumpeter and composer Nils Petter Molvær was a landmark release for the ECM record label. It pioneers a fusion of ambient textures, trip-hop and breakbeat rhythms, and Molvær's distinctive, electronically-processed trumpet sound. The album's unique blend of jazz improvisation with modern electronic production was highly influential in defining the nu jazz genre.
