Album Notes & Community Reviews

Deliberately subverting the massive commercial success of his previous effort, the iconic songwriter delivered a wildly chaotic, intentionally vulgar, and eclectic follow-up. Produced again by Richard Perry and featuring a slew of famous session guests (including George Harrison and Ringo Starr), the record swings from absurd, comedic rock-and-roll pastiches to heartbreaking piano ballads. It stands as a brilliant testament to his self-destructive, idiosyncratic genius.
