Album Notes & Community Reviews

Teaming once again with engineer Steve Albini, the acclaimed songwriter delivered an incredibly tense, stark masterclass in dark Americana. The fragile acoustic arrangements are constantly threatened by sudden, terrifying blasts of cello and accordion dissonance, creating a truly unsettling rural atmosphere.
