Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'I Put a Spell on You', Nina Simone's singular vocal power is backed by Hal Mooney's polished, pop-oriented production, characterized by rich horn and string arrangements. The album showcases her interpretive range through definitive versions of the dramatic title track and the triumphant 'Feeling Good', while also exploring French chanson, witty jazz standards, and tender ballads, cementing its status as one of her most consistent and accessible works.
