Nina Simone at Carnegie Hall

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Capturing her highly prestigious debut as a headliner at the iconic venue, this relatively brief set highlights her stunning classical piano virtuosity intertwined with deep, expressive blues phrasing. While heavily focused on instrumental showcases and traditional folk songs rather than her later protest material, the intense, utterly commanding performance definitively established her as a major force in American music.
