Métronomie

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Desperate to shed his reputation as a writer of novelty hit singles, the French-Italian artist engineered a radical pivot toward serious, conceptual progressive music. The album is a dark, cynical exploration of ecological disaster and societal decay, backed by sweeping orchestrations and heavy, jazz-inflected guitar solos. The record effectively destroyed his mainstream pop career while cementing his legacy as a brilliant cult auteur.
