Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in October 1966, this ferocious, deeply spiritual session highlights the saxophonist's aggressive, heavily emotional tone alongside cellist Catherine Norris and trumpeter Ric Colbeck. Operating entirely outside traditional harmonic structures, the quintet unleashes a relentless, chaotic barrage of ecstatic, high-energy free improvisation, making it a definitive, albeit under-recognized, classic of the ESP-Disk catalog.
