The Voice of Steel

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'The Voice of Steel', Nokturnal Mortum refines its sound with a cleaner, more powerful production that fuses pagan black metal with progressive and psychedelic rock elements. The album is distinguished by its mature and complex songwriting, which moves away from a reliance on keyboards to focus on intricate, guitar-driven arrangements that weave in traditional Ukrainian folk melodies and instruments. The compositions are marked by a dynamic vocal range, from harsh shrieks to clean choirs, creating a majestic and epic atmosphere that explores themes of Ukrainian history and folklore.
