Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Ann Arbor, Michigan ensemble weaves heavy Afrobeat polyrhythms with Detroit-style electronic synthesis and explosive brass arrangements on their third album. Guided by bandleader Elliot Bergman, the record incorporates unusual instrumentation鈥攊ncluding custom-built electric mbiras鈥攖o forge a highly kinetic, undeniably danceable fusion. It stands as a brilliant, joyous modernization of 1970s West African grooves.
