Room 25

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On her debut studio album 'Room 25', Noname chronicles a coming-of-age period following her move from Chicago to Los Angeles, exploring newfound sexual agency, personal identity, and the complexities of life and death with sharp, humorous introspection. Entirely produced by Phoelix, the album's sound is a sophisticated blend of live, free-form jazz and neo-soul, featuring lush string arrangements that create an intricate backdrop for her distinctively conversational, slam-poetry-inspired flow. The record received widespread critical acclaim upon release for its lyrical candor and sonically rich, mature evolution from her earlier work.
