Recorded during the height of early pandemic lockdowns, the Philadelphia quintet refines their notoriously heavy brand of alternative shoegaze. Thematically, frontman Domenic Palermo explores pervasive existential dread, isolation, and societal decay, perfectly mirrored by the suffocating walls of fuzzed-out guitars. Despite the overwhelmingly bleak subject matter, the record features incredibly sharp, melodic dream-pop sensibilities.
