Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing Steven Stapleton's relentlessly surrealist sonic explorations, 'Alice the Goon' constructs deeply unsettling, abstract narratives out of disparate tape loops, distorted rhythms, and obscure found-sound samples. The recording relies heavily on an overarching sense of palpable dread, expertly juxtaposing total absurdity with ominous, cinematic drone textures. It firmly stands as a prime example of Nurse With Wound's unique ability to craft audio-nightmares that entirely defy traditional musical categorization.
