Album Notes & Community Reviews
Constructed from an immense library of manipulated easy-listening records and orchestrated chaos, Steven Stapleton's project takes a sharply surreal turn on this bewildering release. 'The Sylvie and Babs Hi-Fi Companion' functions as a massive, absurd puzzle of plunderphonics, featuring contributions from dozens of underground contemporaries. The album radically deconstructs the concept of lounge music, cementing Nurse With Wound as master provocateurs of the British industrial and avant-garde scenes.
