Death in June Presents: Occidental Martyr

Album Notes & Community Reviews

This highly obscure, deeply atmospheric release features actor Max Wearing reciting dramatic poetry directly over soundscapes provided entirely by Douglas P. of Death in June. 'Occidental Martyr' functions purely as a bleak, neo-folk adjacent spoken-word project, intentionally devoid of traditional musical structure. It utilizes minimalist dark ambient textures and field recordings to underscore challenging themes of European historical decay.
