Album Notes & Community Reviews

Diverging completely from her established pop career, Haza delivered a deeply personal tribute to her Yemeni Jewish heritage, utilizing traditional lyrics and 16th-century poetry. The album brilliantly modernizes ancient Middle Eastern melodies with subtle drum machines and contemporary synthesizer production. The track 'Im Nin'alu' eventually became a massive, highly influential international club hit, bridging traditional world music with the Western dancefloor.
