Album Notes & Community Reviews

Making the jump to Elektra Records, the Dallas quartet essentially perfected the high-energy fusion of traditional country twang and British Invasion power pop. Rhett Miller's hyper-literate, alcohol-soaked lyricism is propelled by frantic, cowpunk rhythms, solidifying the record as an absolute cornerstone of the 1990s alt-country movement.
