Album Notes & Community Reviews

A monumental achievement in modern classical piano repertoire, this expansive recording features Yvonne Loriod flawlessly executing the complex, highly demanding compositions of her husband, Olivier Messiaen[cite: 1]. 'Catalogue d'oiseaux' intricately translates the specific calls of various European birds into dense, avant-garde musical notation[cite: 1]. Loriod's definitive interpretation remains widely celebrated for its staggering technical brilliance and profound artistic empathy[cite: 1].
