Album Notes & Community Reviews

Propelled by the massive crossover success of 'Slam', this Queens-bred debut injected an unparalleled level of furious, throat-shredding aggression into East Coast hip hop. Guided by Jam Master Jay's heavy boom-bap production, the group's frantic, violently boastful gangsta rap narratives became a definitive staple of early 90s hardcore rap.
