Album Notes & Community Reviews

The sessions for 'Pirate's Choice' were cut in Paris in 1982, when much of the material first appeared in Senegal as 'Ken Dou Werente', and the album took its title from the many bootleg editions in circulation. Nick Gold's reissue brought 'Utru Horas', 'Coumba' and 'Ledi Njemme Mbodj' to European listeners, and its cult success eventually drew the band back together in 2001.
