Album Notes & Community Reviews

Australian guitarist Oren Ambarchi's 'Insulation' extends the solo guitar investigations of his 'Stacte' recordings into sustained drone works shaped by the example of Morton Feldman and Alvin Lucier. Harmonic content emerges from resonance and placement rather than gesture, the guitar treated as a source of slowly shifting tonal masses.
